It’s always a pleasant surprise to discover new artists on a bill that’s dominated by bands you’re already familiar with. Jasmine turned out to be one of the most pleasant surprises I’ve ever come across at a gig.

If you’re into intimate singer-songwriter music ala City and Colour with some incredibly insightful lyrics and a beautiful voice then you should absolutely check her out. I’m not sure it’s been released yet, but “Happy” is one of the most emotive tracks I’ve heard in a long time. Quite frankly, the whole set was pretty stunning.

You can find Jasmine on Facebook to be kept up to date with all her plaintive strumming actions.

It’s kind of difficult sometimes to photograph acoustic acts. Largely they don’t do a lot of running around, shouting, pushing stuff over or climbing up stuff but I’m still quite pleased with a few of these. 50mm never lets you down.
