Touring is hard. Or so I’m told. I’ve no idea. I like my own bed and dislike places I don’t know particularly well. Touring isn’t really my thing, but if you’re a band then it kind of has to be a thing. A big thing.
One of the bigger things for a band when it comes to touring has to be their first tour. Last Sunday was the final night. and home town show, of Life on Standby‘s tentative first steps into touring and if Sunday’s set was anything to by it’s a step that hasn’t daunted them at all. The band’s newer tracks in particular sound huge thanks to their ever increasing prowess of mixing pulsing and dense electronnica with bombastic arrangements.
The band delivered a tight and powerful set which achieved the magic thing all bands playing small gigs hope for: everyone stood up and came to the front before the band even started playing.
Who needs Wembley right?
